Who We Are:
Each year in Utah, over 400,000 people face food insecurity, while 600,000 tons of edible food go to waste. WasteLess Solutions is a Utah-based nonprofit dedicated to rescuing surplus food and redirecting it to those in need all while reducing environmental impact. Since 2018, we’ve diverted over 2 million pounds of food from landfills through a network of food donors, nonprofit partners, and dedicated volunteers.
Food waste isn’t just a missed meal, it’s a climate threat. When food rots in landfills, it releases methane, a greenhouse gas up to 80 times more harmful than CO₂. Rescuing food means fewer emissions, less strain on natural resources, and more meals for our neighbors.
Using smart technology, an engaged volunteer network, and partnerships with local food businesses, we make food rescue efficient and impactful. We also educate the public on how everyone can make a difference in their daily lives.

Food Rescue Operations
Sponsor a food recovery route, helping us transport rescued food safely from donors to our nonprofit recipients across the state. Support our logistics network spanning several counties that prevents food from going to waste by rescuing and redirecting surplus food from local businesses to hunger-relief partners.
- Through our food rescue program, we:
- Coordinate daily pickups from hundreds of food donors (restaurants, grocers, farms, etc.)
- Move food to nonprofit partners serving families, seniors, and individuals experiencing homelessness.
- Operate through a tech-enabled volunteer network and dedicated food recovery routes.
- Keep thousands of pounds of edible food out of landfills each week, reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
Sponsorship touchpoints include:
- Support for a dedicated recovery route (i.e. “Sponsored by [Company Name]” route signage or dashboard decals).
- Sponsor fuel or maintenance for our rescue vehicle fleet for an entire year.
- Contribute to cold storage or supply logistics for high-need areas
Neighborhood Nourishment
Fund our prepared meal and mobile market initiatives that serve targeted Utah communities in need.
- Through our Neighborhood Nourishment Program we:
- Repurpose rescued food into nutritious, ready-to-eat meals, created in licensed kitchens with chef or volunteer support.
- Serve individuals experiencing homelessness, seniors, and families through community organizations and service providers.
- Operate mobile markets—pop-up events that distribute free, fresh food directly to neighborhoods with limited access to food.
- Empower recipients with choice and variety, reducing stigma and supporting nutrition.
Sponsorship touchpoints include:
- Sponsor a prep shift or a shelf in our kitchen (i.e. “This shelf stocked by [Company Name]”).
- Provide a week’s worth of prepared meals to a specific site, meals will be labeled with your company logo.
- Underwrite a mobile market event or recurring pop-up in a particular ZIP code or community.
The WasteLess Way
Support hands-on workshops, community outreach, certification programs, and online education that teach the value of food and sustainability.

MONTHLY SUPPORT OPTIONS

- Keep Us Rolling
- Covers one month of vehicle operations: fuel, maintenance, and routing to move rescued food efficiently across our network of donors and recipient partners.
- Fuel the Harvest Hustle (Seasonal: Summer/Fall)
- Supports farm pickups, farmers market support, volunteer coordination, and logistics to rescue fresh produce during Utah’s peak growing season.
- Power the Prep Station
- Keeps our kitchen operations running, from cleaning supplies and packaging, monthly usage fees, and volunteer support, so we can safely prepare and distribute meals to the community.
- Keep It Fresh
- Funds cold storage space and cooling equipment needed to preserve rescued food before it’s delivered to families in need.
- Mobile Market Support
- Supplies transport, logistics, food-safe packaging, and staffing for one month of mobile market events serving food-insecure neighborhoods across Utah.
